The SPMI Virtual Journal is the official publication of the Paraguay Society of Internal Medicine (Paraguay). The mission is to disseminate scientific articles related to health promotion as well as to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the adult patient, with emphasis on systemic pathologies that require the holistic vision of the Internal Medicine Specialist.  It is registered under the ISSN 2312-3893. Its abbreviated title is Rev virtual Soc Parag Med Int. Its periodicity since 2024 is continuous publication with an annual volume. It does not charge fees for evaluation or publication, it is free and open access. The journal accepts pre published or preprinted articles on servers with that methodology.

The SPMI Virtual Journal has, through OJS (Open Journal System), an archiving system that guarantees digital preservation and, with it, permanent accessibility to the scientific articles published in it and incorporates the OAI-PMH protocol (Open Archives Initiative – Protocol for Metadata Harvesting) with the aim of developing standards to facilitate the interoperability of content on the internet.
